Moreland Presbyterian Church is a congregation of 400 members ministering within the larger Portland community.  We are an intergenerational, inclusive, and affirming congregation.
 
As a Presbyterian church, Moreland is led by 18 Church Elders who form our governing body, the Session.  Our Board of Deacons also helps to meet the varied needs of Church members. The congregation is further served by two full-time Pastors , a Director of children and family ministries , and a Youth Director .  Worship is enhanced through the music ministry of our Director of Music and our Organist .  We have a large adult choir, a children’s choir and a bell choir ministry.

A quality educational program for people of all ages has also been a part of our life together, as well as an active community ministry program.
 
Programs for Children and Youth include infant and toddler care on Sunday mornings, MOPS for mothers of pre-schoolers, Sunday School , LOGOS (mid-week program for elementary school age children), and  Junior and Senior High Youth Groups .

Our Mission: “The ministry of mission is spreading the love of Christ through nurture and outreach. Nurture includes worship and education within the church community. Outreach involves witness to a larger community through a variety of means—from support of youth and people at risk to working with caring organizations in the local community and around the world.”  We continue to ask the question: How far can the arms of Christ stretch through everyone’s sharing of time, talent and treasure?
 

 Moreland began in 1885 with the Rev. Robert Lauglin’s “Sabbath School” classes, when Portland was a much different place!  Come and share the excitement as we move through these new days and grow in Christ at Moreland Presbyterian Church!
